Saskatchewan-born musician, Cameron Breiter started playing the double bass at the age of seventeen, with the majority of his double bass studies studying with the former Principal Bass of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, Richard Carnegie. Cameron completed his Bachelor of Music Honours degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 2021, and is currently attending The Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music studying with Jeffrey Beecher, Principal Bass of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

Cameron performs with the  Saskatoon Youth Orchestra directed by Richard Carnegie since the 2017-18 season, where in the 2022-23 season he performed Serge Koussevitzky's Concerto for Double Bass as the soloist, and as a frequent substitute musician with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra. Cameron has also played in several other ensembles including the Thomastik-Infeld Canadian String Orchestra in 2018, 2020-22 under the direction of Mark Skazintesky, Alexander Shelley, and Naomi Woo, and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada under the direction of Sascha Goetzel in 2022-23 and with Naomi Woo in 2024.

Outside of music making and playing the bass, Cameron likes to go on walks by the Saskatchewan River, eat ice-cream with friends, and binge-watch The Lord of the Rings films (only the extended versions!). Cameron's current musical pursuit is to program new double bass works and show case them to all audiences.
